Neighborhood Spotlight: Redmond

One perk of my job as a Real Estate Agent is getting to explore the different cities and areas that I’m working in. Through this exposure, I’ve become familiar with some iconic restaurants, neighborhoods, businesses, and other features that make each city unique. I thought I would pass along some of these highlights by doing a neighborhood feature!

I’m going to start in a place that is very near and dear to my heart, Redmond Washington.

Sitting just twenty minutes outside of downtown Seattle, Redmond has blossomed into a bustling suburban city over the past twenty years. Despite it being a hub for one of the largest tech companies in the country, it has held tight to it’s small-town feel complete with booming local businesses, farmers markets, and it’s community-driven lifestyle.

For the Outdoor People
There are over 25 miles of trails scattered throughout the city, connecting many of the areas 30 parks and green spaces. Strap on your rollerblades and skate down the Sammamish trail to Red Hook Brewery, or stroll along the beautiful Lake Sammamish waterway. No matter where you are in Redmond, you are sure to see other outdoor enthusiasts embracing the parks, trails, and more!

For the Dog Lovers
If you have a furry four legged friend in your life, you will want to take them to the  Marymoor Dog Park. Spanning over 40 acres, this dog park has fields to run in, water to splash in, and typically plenty of other dogs to play with. The park is well taken care of, has access to doggy bags to clean up after your furry friend, and there’s never a shortage of playful pups around!

Additionally, the entirety of Marymoor Park, which spans over 600 acres, has soccer and baseball fields, rock climbing equipment, endless trails, and hosts plenty of concerts and events all throughout the summer. There’s a little something for everyone!

Redmond Town Center
A beautiful outdoor mall that shoppers and eaters can enjoy all year round. There is a wide variety of shops, restaurants, gyms and, the Redmond Windermere office (where I call my second home). They host events all throughout the year like Santa’s Workshop, car shows, and festivals.

For the Happy Hour Lovers

  • Matador: makes a killer spicy margarita (a personal favorite) and the most delicious $5 nacho platter you will ever have. Normal happy hour from 4-6 and then a late night bonus from 10pm-1am (21+)

  • Prime: Calling all steak lovers. They also host a double happy hour going from 4pm-6pm and 9pm-close. Sven and I have a date night planned here at the end of the month and I cannot wait to get my hands on their prime rib sandwich.

  • Pomegranate: Thoughtful comfort foods and deliciously fun cocktails.Everything is fresh and oh so yummy. They have a happy hour that runs from 3:30-6:00pm - what?!

    • They also offer fun events like Taco Two-Days on Tuesday & Wednesday or enjoy live music while you dine!

For the Breakfast Lovers
Family Pancake House is a personal favorite of mine! For the early risers, you can’t find a better spot for delicious diner inspired breakfast.

For the Deal Seekers
Coho Cafe comes complete with a menu that is perfect for those who love the north-western spin on seafood. There’s a Groupon to get $30 of food for $17, an amazing deal for a delicious meal!

For Your Sweet Tooth
With seasonal favorites such a Viaduct Crunch or one of their staples like Scout Mint or Honey Lavender, each bite of Molly Moons ice cream is packed with flavor. They source their ingredients locally and each batch is churned daily. Yum!

With all the amazing benefits of living in Redmond, there are also plenty of opportunities to be a resident.

For Renters
If you’re looking to try out the area and not plan firm roots just yet, there are 13 active listings ranging in price from $1,695-$4,995

For Those Ready to Buy
There are currently 138 opportunities to purchase a home with a Redmond address. There are 114 active single-family homes starting at $500K and going up to $5,250,000 . If condos are more your thing there are 24 active condos starting at $275K and going up to $680K. There is currently TRIPLE the inventory compared to this time last year AND interest rates have dropped half a point in the last two months!

*This data is all pulled from the MLS. Keep in mind, these numbers are changing every day and I didn’t include rentals listed on third party sites like Zillow or Trulia.

No matter if you are visiting or if you’re here to stay, Redmond has a little something for everyone. If you are interested in learning more about Redmond or the surrounding area, I would love to take you out for coffee and show all that there is to love about it!
